Joensuun Laivaus and Saimaa Terminals have joined forces. The new company has been named Careliance Oy, and it brings together the expertise of two long-established logistics and port operators.
The merger creates a stronger operator that offers its customers a broader range of services and better resources. Careliance’s goal is to keep supply chains running smoothly: goods move to the right place, at the right time and without surprises.
“When two experienced operators join forces, the result is more than the sum of its parts. We want to be the most reliable logistics partner – one our customers can always count on in their day-to-day operations,” says Heikki Hirvonen, CEO of Careliance.
Going forward, Careliance will offer stevedoring, freight forwarding and warehousing from a single provider. The merger enables:

- more flexible and efficient operations
- a better ability to meet the needs of a changing logistics environment
The company’s operating area extends from the inland waters of Lake Saimaa to the Port of HaminaKotka and on to international transport chains.
The merger will be carried out in phases, with the aim of ensuring that customers’ day-to-day operations continue without interruption. Services, contracts and contact persons will largely remain unchanged, and any changes will be communicated well in advance.
